Les Prophéties, written by the French apothecary and seer Nostradamus in the 16th century, was published in 1555. He gathered 942 lyrical quatrains in it, many of which foretold significant historical occurrences. Over the ages, his vague and enigmatic writing has been interpreted in a variety of ways.
These days, one of the most talked-about prophecies describes the coming of a “Black Pope.” The most popular version would have three popes in succession: a foreigner (Benedict XVI), an elderly man (Francis), and a dark-skinned pontiff in the end.
