Floribama Shore star Kirk Medas died after being hospitalized for necrotizing pancreatitis. He was 33.
“We lost our brother, our best friend, our heart — Kirk,” Floribama Shore costar Aimee Elizabeth Hall wrote via Facebook on Friday, May 2, per Page Six “I was at the beach when I felt it. Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye. Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew.”
Hall, 32, added that while her “heart is shattered,” she finds “peace in knowing” her friend is “no longer in pain.”
“He’s in heaven now — free, whole, and making everyone laugh the way only he could,” she continued. “Kirk had the kindest soul, a heart full of love for everyone he met, and a spirit that brought people together. He truly was the glue that held us all close.”
News broke earlier on Friday that Medas had been in the ICU for two weeks for necrotizing pancreatitis and was placed on a ventilator. Hall shared that she’ll “never forget the moment they placed him on the ventilator, before the coma took hold.”
Before his death, Hall admitted that she was able to express how much Medas meant to her.
“I already miss his voice, his laughter, his presence. The world feels a little dimmer without him — but I know I’ll see my best friend again someday,” she penned. “Until then, I’ll carry him in my heart. Always.”
Hours before announcing Medas’ death, Hall shared via social media that she and some additional Floribama Shore cast members have been keeping in touch with Medas’ loved ones during his hospital stay.
“Nilsa [Prowant] has been flying back and forth to Miami to be by his side,” she wrote via Instagram alongside a series of snaps of Medas. “And I’ve been lucky enough to stay connected through FaceTime with his roommates and close friends who’ve been keeping us updated daily.”

Hall added that a GoFundMe was created for Medas by his mother to help with the costs for healthcare. The GoFundMe page now reads that donations will help aid in a “funeral arrangement.”
At the time of writing the GoFundMe has raised more than $28,000 in donations.
Prowant, 31, also took to social media to express her gratitude for the well wishes sent in honor of Medas.
“Watching someone you love go through something so painful and uncertain is heartbreaking, but your messages, prayers, and kind words have truly lifted us in this dark time,” she wrote via Instagram on Friday alongside a throwback video of her and Medas. “His mama is so grateful for every single one of you … and I know Kirk will be too. Please keep praying for him … he’s strong, and we’re believing in healing, recovery, and a miracle. One day at a time.”
