Maura Higgins’ ex has slammed the Love Island star before she goes Down Under for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
Maura, 33, who is likely to be a latecomer to the jungle on the ITV reality show, dated Curtis Pritchard, 28, after the pair met on Love Island in 2019. After calling it quits with the dancer in 2020, Maura told Married At First Sight guru, Paul C. Brunson that Curtis was a “why not” man, claiming she only dated him because there were limited men in the villa.
However, when Curtis was asked if he had tuned in to Maura’s latest podcast appearance, he didn’t hold back, quipping: “I’ve no idea what’s she done. I don’t even know what podcast you’re on about. I have no idea.”
Adding a final dig to the former ring girl from Ireland, he told The Sun while attending the Irish Post Awards with his new girlfriend Sophie Sheridan: “She can’t keep my name out of her mouth, can she?”
Opening up about her doomed relationship with Curtis, Maura lifted the lid on how she really felt about her co-star, telling Paul on his podcast, We Need To Talk, that the brother of Strictly star, AJ Pritchard, was not her “dream man” and wasn’t even her “type”.
Claiming she decided to give it a shot because there was no one else on her radar at the time, she said: “When you’re locked in a house, I say locked but you’re in a house and you’re in there for X amount of time. You’re going to start liking people that you wouldn’t normally like.
“Not to be mean but you are, you’re in there. I’m pretty sure it would probably be the same on Big Brother. You’re locked in a house, you’re not seeing any other men. You’re going to be like ‘why not’.”

Paul laughed before asking: “So there’s a bunch of why not men in there?” Maura replied: “Well yeah! They’re not your dream man. It’s the aim of the game.”
Maura now has her sights set on her new man, Pete Wicks, who was seen enjoying a date night with the reality star before she is tipped to jet off to Australia.
The couple looked delighted to be in each other’s company on Monday as Maura revealed they had enjoyed an evening of music, which left her overcome with emotion. The duo attended the London Palladium theatre to watch 68-year-old Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi in his current UK tour.
Reflecting on her night out, the reality star shared a photograph of the theatre, displaying Ludovico’s promotional posters with the caption: “I’ve been counting down the days @ludovico_einaudi.” She then shared a video of the performance and wrote: “Cried all night long.” And she later gushed: “I am in awe of him.”
