Rihanna and ASAP Rocky are about to become a party of five — and she chose fashion’s biggest night to announce the exciting news.
Sources confirm to Us Weekly that Rihanna, 37, is expecting baby No. 3 with ASAP Rocky, 36. The singer showed off her baby bump while getting ready for the Met Gala on Monday, May 5, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Her photographer, Miles Diggs, also confirmed the news with an image of her bump on display. (Diggs has confirmed her pregnancies in the past.)
Last year, Rihanna, who shares sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 17 months, with ASAP Rocky, opened up about her desire to expand her family.
“[I’ll have] as many kids as God wants me to have,” she told Elle in April 2024. “I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
The duo, who began dating in 2020, announced that they were expecting their first child in January 2022.
“I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of s**t. We just had fun,” Rihanna told Vogue in April 2022 of her pregnancy. “And then it was just there on the test. I didn’t waste any time. I called him inside and showed him. Then I was in the doctor’s office the next morning and our journey began.”
The couple welcomed their first child, RZA, in May 2022.
Less than one year after RZA’s birth, Rihanna confirmed she was expecting her second child with ASAP Rocky when she unveiled a baby bump during her performance at Super Bowl LVII in February 2023. The couple welcomed son, Riot, that August.
Rihanna has previously been candid about how motherhood has changed her.

“You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever,” she told British Vogue in February 2023. “You literally try to remember it — and there are photos of my life before — but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because … because it doesn’t matter.”
The singer noted that transitioning into becoming a mother was a “head f**k.”
“Essentially, from one person I became two,” she explained to the outlet. “You walk into the hospital as a couple and leave as a family of three. It’s nuts. And, oh, my gosh, those first days are insane. You don’t sleep. At all. Not even if you wanted to. We came home, cold turkey, had no one. It was just us as parents and our baby.”
ASAP Rocky, for his part, has shared that he loves being a dad to his two sons.
“I think becoming a father helped me just get my dad swag bag,” he said in an April 2025 interview with Vogue. “I’m really on that. That’s what I do. I’m on that dad swag. I love it.”
