Katy Perry still can’t believe she’s officially an astronaut.

“One day when you’re older, will YOU still look up in wonder?” Perry, 40, wrote alongside Instagram footage of herself floating among the stars during her Monday, April 14, Blue Origin spaceflight. “Still processing this incredible journey ✨.”

In addition to thanking Blue Origin, Perry gave a shout-out to her “space sisters, taking up space AND making room in space for all.” She ended her caption by writing, “See you on tour (when I come down, figuratively).”

Perry was one of six women who took off from Blue Origin’s Launch Site One in West Texas on Monday morning. The group — which included CBS Mornings host Gayle King, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez — made history as the first all-women spaceflight since Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova’s 1963 solo trip.

In the in-flight footage, which Perry shared on Tuesday, April 15, the Grammy nominee and her fellow passengers screamed in excitement while experiencing zero gravity. “Taking up space!” they exclaimed into one of the capsule’s cameras.

Several of the women brought special mementos with them for the fight. Perry, for her part, brought a small daisy flower as a nod to her 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, whom she shares with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom. In the clip, which she set to her song “Wonder,” Perry also held up a butterfly-shaped cutout featuring what looks like the setlist for her upcoming Lifetimes Tour.

After enjoying a few minutes of floating and taking in views of Earth and the moon, Perry and the women strapped themselves back into their seats. After landing back on the ground, Perry triumphantly held up her daisy before kneeling and kissing the ground.

In a post-flight interview for Blue Origin, King, 70, revealed that Perry sang “What a Wonderful World” as they prepared for their return to Earth. Perry later explained why she chose to sing the tune over one of her own, stating, “It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us. It’s about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging. And it’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth.”

Perry said that the spaceflight experience ranked “second to being a mom” and also explained the meaning of her daisy memento. “Daisies are common flowers, but they grow through any condition,” she explained. “They grow through cement. They grow through cracks. They grow through walls. They are resilient. … It’s a reminder of our beautiful Earth and the flowers here and God’s smile and the beautiful magic that is everywhere, all around us, and even in a simple daisy. So, to really appreciate it and remember it and take care of it and protect it.”

Both Bloom, 48, and their daughter were in attendance at Monday’s launch. Bloom shared footage of himself watching the takeoff and landing via his Instagram Story on Monday. “Coming in to land,” he stated in one clip as the capsule made its way back down.
